Glove opinion and antibacterial materials

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a new pair of gloves and believe I have narrowed the choice down to Eagle X6, Eagle X70, Easton Synergy 800, Easton Synergy 700 (don't like the SmartCuff). I am intrigued by the "Stay Fresh" and "BioDry" palms , but am leary as to how well it works and feels over time. I played w/ pair of Louisville TPS' all through college and then took a 5 year layoff after graduating. Now that I'm starting to play again, the smell from these gloves is killing me. So I figured I'd start upgrading my equipment there.

Two questions:

1. Anyone have any bad things to say about any of the gloves I'm considering?

2. Has anyone played w/ these antibacterial options? Do they really help w/ the smell? Do the palms wear and feel the same as normal clarino or nash (does it get slimy or crispy over time)?

Edit - Narrowed down the glove choices.

I've never used those gloves, but I can tell you how the anti-bacterial works in our PG1 gloves. It's in the lining, so it doesn't affect the palms. A microfiber (silver perhaps?) is sewn into the lining to help prevent the growth of bacteria. It's doesn't affect the feeling or comfort, but it does help keep smells lower.

You should also look into Funk Free. It's a spray that works quite well on all your equipment.
