Its always seemed to me that most of the few sponsored players in the league had contract exception clauses for skates... Its a lot easier to make a pair of gloves to a player's specs or wrap another manufacturer's shaft in your logos than it is to duplicate the feel of a pair of skates a player really likes. Usually though, the player in question is using an old skate design that he likes or a traditional cut Bauer Supreme or CCM Tacks model, not a brand new cutting edge design. It may be a testament to just how nasty the One90's are.
