Tackla Silver 44 Pant

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any experience using this pant?

How Protective is it?

Is it heavy or lite compared to the average pant?

Does it have zippers?

Do you recommend or not?

Thanks in advanced.

i havnt used it personally, but i'd say it looks very well padded and protective. IMO it's a little heavier than a lot of pants but it's not to bad. And i cannot remember whether or not it has zippers, i wanna say it doesn't but i can't remember. Just from the way it looks and feels and the response people who have bought them from my store have given me I would recommend them. Hope i've been somewhat helpful.

44 is a little heavier and does not have zippers.

If you are looking for the qualities that high-end Tackla pants are known for, this is not the pant for you.

I'm not too crazy about the belly pad/belt system on it.

Thanks JR...

Actually I'm looking for an B/C+ level adult no-check league pant that offers decent protection (from falls more than anything else), but still provides pretty decent mobility...and at less than $75US.

Currently I have a pair of CCM Pro Stock pants XL that I bought at a team sale. The label is too worn out to be able to read what model. They're very protective (much moreso than I require IMO) but extremely bulky. I notice some skating agility loss with them on vs. when I don't have them on. (I coach HS hockey so I frequently scrimmage with the team wearing only shins/elbows/helmet/gloves). I'm looking at replacing them inexpensively as possible.

I like the euro pant fit concept that Tackla uses, although I've never worn a pant that had that feature...tight hip/waist padding, loose leg padding.

My other options are New Mission L3/L5 pant at a bit more money, just worry about bulk. Or some closeout Nike Q2/ Bauer 4000 pants for about the same price as the Silver 44's.

Also, considered the girdle/shell route (like the Synergy700 girdle idea) since I have had great experience with my roller hockey girdle. I like the hip/thigh/tail padding tight with stretchable fabric between for mobility. I'd just need a suitable one for ice. This however is the most expensive option.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I just switched from the M1 to the L5. The M1's were very comfy and you can still find them or the M2's for cheap.

I second that opinion. the M2 or L series equivalent is more than adequate for no check men's leagues. Plus, the price can't be beat.
