How can I tell if I have an 06 Synergy SL?

Recommended Posts

I just got my new Drury 85 Flex SL off eBay and I'm just wondering if there is a quick way to tell if it is an 05 or 06 model. The listing said it had 'CNT molecular level strengthening' which I thought was a new feature in 2006, but I guess it is possible they just (unknowingly perhaps) cut and pasted that from an Easton ad somewhere.

So any clues to look for? It is a pro-stock stick, says 'ThermaTec' on the bottom side, and it just says 'Synergy' but does not have 'SL' anywhere on the stick like I see on the Easton site. The colouring is the metallic silver fade to blue at the bottom. Another simple question, is the colour scheme blue or red related to flex or something, or can you get the exact same stick in both colours?

Thanks

EDIT: Further research on ePuck suggests that the 05 model also had CNT Technology, but as well their descriptions for the 05 and 06 SL are the EXACT same, which begs the question, is there any difference at all between the 05 and 06 model?

Yeah thanks for the help, I just figured that out.

I've determined that the 05 and 06 models are not the exact same, but still haven't figured out how to identify my stick.

If the stick was never used, the blade would have a sticker that said NEW and IMPROVED or on the top near the handle there should be a colorful sticker that says the flex and performance, also the paint job is differnt the 06 models say EASTON in big white letters near the bottom as where the o5 didnt. well hope this is some form of help.

Hmm...those stickers weren't on there, although this is a pro stock stick, so I'm not sure if they would be, but yes I have seen those in the store on the 06 SL's.

Thanks for the tip on the painting though, looking at the 06 Easton Equipment pdf posted up here I can see the 'EASTON' I think you are talking about, painted down towards the bottom of the shaft on the top (narrow) side of the stick. This feature is not on my stick. As well, when I compared to the 05 Equipment pdf, my stick looks more like the image in that catelogue, although I still notice that the 05 sticks says 'SL' after Synergy whereas my stick does not. I guess that is a feature of the pro stock sticks.

Oh well, looks like I got a 2005 model (which I sort of expected). I hope I don't run into the durabilty issues that have plagued so many with this stick, but for 89.99 I'm not expecting too much.

Thanks again for the help.

Well i'm not sure how the durabillity is with the pro stock SL's but i know that every pro stock stick that i have had has held up longer than any stock stick i have had.
