Actually, there are a couples goalies available, Biron,Giguere, Aebischer, and Gerber are coming to my mind right now. I don't know where you have seen that thought, but I've heard some rumors here in MTL.

Most of them aren't unrestricted and Detroit would have to give up a player. Gerber is UFA, Biron is RFA and is going to sign his offer sheet, Giggy has at least one more year on his contract and Abby is also RFA but unsigned.
