Could someone help me out with advice. I am trying

Sorry if this sounds like a complete tonkass question. I just bought a new Nike/bauer 4500 helmet. Its an XL.

I was previously using the bauer 1000 helmet, large.

When I bought it, it had the cage on it.

I just changed the helmet over, but I am noticing a problem.

On my old helmet, the adjustment screws at the back/side of the helmet also doubled as a button. Because my cage was in good order, I just bought a helmet, not a helmet/cage combo.

The thing I am having trouble with is this.

The screw is not also a button, which is not so much the issue, as I could change them out.

The problem is, the screw is a lot higher up on the helmet, so the chincup strap does not reach there even if there was a button.

What do I do?

It's basically at the ends of it, can you buy longer ones. I have a massive melon head, hence the change from L to XL helmet.

So i should change out the button screws and look for a longer chin strap?

You will definately need to change out the buttons, otherwise you will have no way of connecting the cage to the helmet.

As far as the chinstraps go try and see if you can rearrange the chinstrap around the bars of the helmet to get more length from it. Sometimes the chinstrap is woven in and out of the cage so you lose some length. It should reach after some tinkering I would think.
