chk hrd 164 Report post Posted April 18, 2008 be careful if you don't have a license. In some places anything over 50cc requires a license. Don't be stupid...wear a helmet regardless of what you get...
Portlandman 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 I am not planning on using it to get from class to class but to get from school to my internship. I know there are scooters that get up to about 100 since my friend has one but I do think I am going to go with a bike.
D aka speck 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 Make sure you know the cc regulations where you plan to ride.In MI 125 cc is minimum for interstate. Some states may regulate highway minimums as well. Also, be aware of traffic patterns on busy roads... bikers on loud Harleys get plastered all the time.We don't want that to happen to MOST of the people on here. :D Great transportation that's inexpensive, easy and reliable. Come on people you do not NEED a moped to get to class.I disagree. When you have a job and class full-time, sometimes you don't have the time to walk several miles to and from class. I'm not saying you need a moped in college by any means, I'm saying it's nice to have, and can be a good timesaver.
RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted April 21, 2008 A guy at work just bought an Electric Bicycle. It has pedals, so it does not require a license or insurance to use, but it also goes 30-35 Km an hour...so he can use it on the street. Maybe not main streets, but side streets and bike trails...He's going to ride it for the first time tomorrow...Earth Day no less. If I didn't live in an apartment I'd consider one for running around town, to and from work...etc...and save the truck for hockey and trips out of town...but without a garage, I have nowhere to charge it.
