Tour 2007

Recommended Posts

The Blue Max and that entire line have more cushioning in the heel and were heavier... My Code 1's have less padding and much thinner (but super stiff and protective) side walls. They took a little longer to break in then older Tour boots but its well worth the benefits in weight and stiffness. They are worth the price tag and once they go discount you'll see a lot of folks in them!

I really got to ask whom the girl in the avatar for sicklife is. That is one of the most attractive women I have ever seen.. Sorry, didn't mean to go off topic...

I do believe that's Kari from Mythbusters from that balloon episode, am I correct?

Anyone pick up the Beemers from hockeygiant when they went down to $119?

I just impulsively jumped on it when they did. I'm still deciding on how I feel about the boots though. They're like driving a nice German luxury car, and feel about as heavy in my opinion...

I wanted to try on a pair of Code-1's in store but they never have any in my size.

Yea my teammate has the ghetto and likes it. Quite an interesting color scheme though. Also the new pants are sweet. Sprung with the skate you are talking about. Could it be a new mid range boot there adding to the line of skates? Ex. Like the code Silvers that came out later after the rest of the beamer line?

I didn't find out much about it, but the rep liked it too. Maybe somebody from Tour will come on here and spill the beans. Good audience right now.

Ya know, I'm not even sure it wasn't an ice boot, now that I think about it.

Tour has been putting their inline boots with crow holders on their page since the beemers first came out like 2 years ago (Maybe even before, as I had never been to their page before they came out with the hum'er chassis). Never actually saw a pair though.

Only tour ice skates I've ever seen were the old cheap-ass XL-45's. all of them cracked the holder just under the ball of the foot. They were my first ice skates that I got for $5 from a yard sale.

Yea I have a friend that got a pair of blue max ice skates. He likes them. I find it very interesting that the notch that’s put in for the all 80’s to fit are also on the ice version.

^ that way they don't have to engineer and manufacture 2 different outsoles for the boot. They boots are the same for roller and ice, just the chassis/holder is different.

New 07 tour skates or not??

From what Sprung said maybe one skate. But I don’t think anyone has seen or heard of a new full line of skates.

Tour updates:

Ghetto stick was tested at TORHS, AAU and Narch. Since then we made a couple minor changes as well as a name change, from Ghetto to "Avaitor". We were having a little fun with the Ghetto name this summer. THe new Avaitor stick will be available very soon, (2 weeks).

Skates, the Code series (Code-1, Code E-2, and Code Red), has received such a great responce, we will carry these models into 2007. It's been awhile since our line has been this strong. A few people around the country have seen a test skate from us. We do our best to keep these things under wraps until they are ready to be introduced. But needless to say it's impossible to test without some people noticing. If the testing comes together as planned, we will soon be introducing a new skate. It will not be a replacement for one of our current skates, but a new addition. As we get closer to finalizing the skate, we will pass some information on.

The code-1's still look just like the Beemers to me, just lighter and more flimsy looking. Has anyone had any trouble with durability of the code-1's over the Beemer's??

The Code 1's are tanks as are the Code E2's. Even though they look flimsy compared I can tell you they feel super solid. I had doubts about the Genesis wheels, and it looks like my doubts have been justified. I would've considered the Tours, but I don't like the feel of the Hummer chassis and Mission fits my foot a little better overall. The Code series is probably the best competition Tour has given Mission in a few years as far as weight and performance goes.

I didn't have the Beemers, but I had the BlueMaxxs. And yes, I did have durability issues with the Codes. For one thing, the chassis blew out on me, quite easily too (see some of my previous posts on the long running topic). Also, boot damage occurred easily on the Codes when compared to other boots. The side area by the toe wore out way too easily. The part on the boot that says "Tour" tore open somehow and I had to glue it back. Shots hurt like a mutha! Finally, I only wore them for one Summer, or roughly a season and part of another, and breakdown was already occurring.

I was actually much happier with overall construction of the BlueMaxxs. They were heavier, but I found them to be stiffer and more durable.

just seen the new Tour Formula 9 skate ( formula 7 JR ), its a base model but looks ok , the rest of the range for 07 remains : Code 1- Code 2- Code red.

also a new Kids adjustable skate the zt600.

The 3 new models of pant look much better than the current models:

W20 - W30 - W40

all look like the current Code 1 pant, each model up had better kness & graphics.
