Dante2004 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2006 Flight 77 crash into the Pentagon a hoax? First, before anyone gets the wrong idea, I am simply trying to get peoples opinions on this issue. I am certainly not trying to slight the events that happened on 9/11. I take this point in history very seriously and I think many Americans have let it slip too far from their minds.I got an e-mail today with the following link:http://www.pentagonstrike.co.uk/flash.htm#MainThere are many websites/books/people out there that believe this conspiracy theory. They believe that Flight 77 didn’t really hit the pentagon and that actually it was a smaller plane or missile that hit the building. There main “evidence†for this theory is the supposed lack of evidence of a plane at the scene of the explosion and that the approaching aircraft didn't show up on video surveilance cameras. According to believers of this theory, the wreckage found at the scene doesn’t jive with what a 757 crash site would look like. But…if a plane crashed with people on board…you would have families that lost loved ones. How did this get faked? I know there are e-mail hoaxes out there, but this spans much further than an e-mail. You are talking about websites, published books, talking heads on TV, etc.
prenny207 1 Report post Posted August 18, 2006 WOW!!! very interesting. i agree that this is a very personal subject, and it has effected the entire country. i do believe though that we, to some degree, do need to know the truth of what happened. if we are supposed to live in fear of terrorism, we need to know what goes on within our borders. no matter what the cause of that horrible situation, truth would be very well warrented.i remember that day, sitting and watching the tv, then driving to my parents that afternoon, and seeing the sky with no signs of commercial air traffic, and watching 1 single Air Force plane circling the sky, keeping watch. being in michigan was a long way from where the terror happened, but it's amazing how it hit home where ever you were that day. hockeysew 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2006 I have seen a few articles in literature, web etc regarding this subject. They have all brought out some very interesting points.1-It seems that nobody actually saw the plane fly into the building..Now think about the size of a 757 (100 tons approx, 155 feet long & 124ft wingspan) flying at 500 m.p.h.+ You would think that somebody would have seen something!2- 100 tons of aircraft wreckage does not just disappear. An aircraft will burn and the majority of it will turn into a blob of aluminum but things such as turbine fans etc that are made from high temperature alloys (titainium etc) will stay somewhat intact. Infact the "wreckage" recovered was not recognizable as a COMMERCIAL aircraft.3-An aircraft can leave a minimal impact "footprint". This was exhibited in a DC-8 crash in the 80's in Colorado Springs. The entire plane was in a crater 30 feet across. But however this aircraft impacted the ground at 650 m.p.h. (est) and directly nose in and straight down in relativly soft earth. This was not the case with flight 77.Things that make you go "Hmmmmm"We have a better chance of finding out who really killed Kennedy
