Skates for a lightweight with big feet

Recommended Posts

Guys:

Is there any special consideration that must be made a light (130 lb.) hockey player when choosing skates? I know with ski boots, they actually have junior boots up to size 10. The thinking is, an adult boot would be too stiff for a light skier. Do you have to think about the same sort of thing with skates? Just wondering.

retail hockey skates only go up to size 5.5 for junior boots.

you may want to try to get top of the line skates, wich would be really light, or you might beable to get large custom junior skates...

btw... welcome to the board!

If you would have issues with a boot that is stiff, consider a mid level skate. That should give you the support you need without restricting your movement. Any time you try on skates make sure you walk around in them and get a feel for how much they flex.
