Nike Roller Daddys

Recommended Posts

I was in my local hockey shop today, vaguely mulling over the idea of getting some new skates, when I a pair of these caught my eye (might've been something to do with their ridiculous name :D - but they seemed pretty sweet)

Now, I've never used Nike skates before (currently use the Easton Air Vents, the ones with the weird wheel set up), so was wondering if any of you guys know what they're like? Good, bad, indifferent?

If it helps, I currently play in a national University/College league in Britain...

Cheers guys :)

All be it a strange name given to a skate by a college DI Ice hockey player and friend of Bauer Nike, the skate will definitely fit your needs as a University RH player. Labeda Millennium wheels, abec 7 bearings, heat moldable upper, water resistant/foot gripping liner, full composite outsole - it has all of the specs you will need to compete at a high level. But the thing about this skate - it fits great right out of the box and I have had kids tell me across the US that this is the most comfortable skate they have ever put on their feet.

But as always, try them on and decide for yourself.

My son got the Nike HiHo's , which certainly live up to that billing..exactly as described....he plays "pro" and elite inline hockey.

First and formemost THEY DO NOT FIT OUT OF THE BOX. They need time to fit just like every other skate. However once you get them worn in after 2-3 weeks they feel fantastic.

However I must add that the bearings are crap. Like the Quest One bearings (of 2003) that click all over the place so do the Roller Daddy's. Not quite as obnoxious as the 2003 model but still a poor product feature.

PERFORMANCE: 9.5

FIT: 8.5

OVERALL:8

I have a friend that uses nike skates(a couple of types not sure) but he is always getting blisters on his feet from them. Does this happen to anyone else or is it just him?
