Mask for a 8 Year Old

Looking to get my 8-year old a mask. What do people think of the Itech 2500? I thought with the dual foam in the mask it would give him decent protection...

I sold a bunch of them to kids, solid little helmet for the money.

Good that makes me feel better. After ordering one I saw that the bulletin boards at www.goaliestore.com were really slamming the low to mid range Itech masks. While he won't see any real hard shots yet I do worry about his head hitting the ice or the posts.

Just for the record, once he's playing against bigger competition I would suggest something different but for an 8-10 year old, it's fine.

Yeah your area of concern should be him hitting his head on the post and such, he's not gonna see any type of shot that is really gonna rattle his cage. I agree with the last poster however he will need a new mask after age 11 or 12, and thats the age when Itechs get bad. Look into Eddy, NXI, Olie, TPS. I used to use a hige end level Itech for awhile and padding began falling out and two of the screws on the face cage broke and came undone. So when he gets old enough to where the shots can do damage, really do your homework on Itech.
