Adjusting to new lie

Recommended Posts

I read I think in the Robitaille curve thread that if you use a different lie, you can compensate by changing the lenght of your stick.

If you were going from higher to lower, would you decrease or increase the length? I would like to try the Smyth curve but it is listed a 4.5 I think. I need a 6.

I think I might give it a go. I miss the Shanahan curve and this seems similar, only a little deeper with a closed face, which I like. I will add a little length and see what it is like. If no good I might be able to sell it.

I've tried both, and in truth the Smyth and Shanny are not that similiar. There is tons more rocker on the Smyth, and its got a very rounded toe. Don't buy the Smyth expecting the feel of the old Shanahan.

The closest to Shanny that I've found is the Christian/Harrow Recchi model. It's much more of a toe than Recchi, has a round toe, a little more loft than Recchi or Shanny and is a 5.5 lie

I would actually prefer a rounded toe and the Shanny was a long blade as well, which I am not a huge fan of. I liked the toe curve for the wrist shots. With the Smyth, it is deeper but also a closed face.
