Itech 230 Pro Jock

Recommended Posts

I just got myself Itech 230 Pro Jock from Hockey Monkey

http://www.hockeymonkey.com/itechjockpro.html

The ad on Hockey Monkey said this regarding the jock:

Features:

High-quality Nylon mesh

Large attachment tabs to securely hold socks in place

Combines deluxe protective cup and comfortable inner short

Lightweight and extremely comfortable

Machine washable and highly durable

Supposedly a good deal, so I decided I replace my Itech Pro Licra Jock which I am not very fond of because it doesn't really cover it (not because of size but rather because of poor design).

Well, the actual Jock that I got from Hockey Monkey is labeled as Jock Pro. It came in brown or rather dark purple color. Today I got it out of the box it came in and played in it for the first time. Felt pretty comfortable but...in the locker after the game I noticed that my white socks got stained by the darn thing and so did my expensive pro pants in red!

I am soaking the jock in the cold water right now with no soap or detergent and the water is very brown. The rubber Itech logos are coming off in chunks too.

I read the label. It says hand wash with mild soap and water only. Yet the ad on HM Site says machine washable and highly durable.

The label says MADE IN VIETNAM. Great outsourcing job, Itech! Hope the vietnamese in the outsourcing factory made at least a dollar making the jock.

I think I am going to female dog at Itech to their customer service.

It's probably not much help to you now, but I use a slightly different Itech jock (the yellow mesh one) and have had no problems with colors bleeding through. It has been through the wash tons of times, and I even usually put it in the dryer although I don't think you're supposed to. The only issue I had with it was the stitching where the cup support is attached to the waistband was coming loose, so I re-sewed it on. Maybe you could get them to swap the item for you.

Itech JP200

Like I mentioned my previous jock also was an Itech. No problems with it bleeding through either. I think this is a quality control issue. I don't think that jocks are exchangeable because of the nature of the product. Plus sending it back from Ukraine where I am now will be cost prohibitive. I'll just soak the darn thing in water to see if it stops bleeding.

I wouldnt say the whole site is a scam. Sometimes they have good deals and they do work out just fine. I did have issues with their customer service though. I escalated the issue when I got a brand new stick that happened to be cut off by somebody (most likely a previous customer return). I female dogged at them some and their customer service manager suggested I put it on e-Bay. He won't respond to my subsequent e-mails.

They did send me a wooden (not composite) butt end for free though. For the Easton Stealth stick. They also sent me the wrong Mission pro stock gloves. Both stick and the gloves are sitting here useless. Waste of money. $200+ and that's not including shipping to Ukraine.

take a look at the shock doctor jocks. they are amazing, and i was able to find one for about 35 canadian. i think there have been topics on it, but the x-design holds the cup in place, and the cup is lined with gel for comfort.

Yeah, I will. Sure. I 've got a shock doctor cup only. Fits well into this Itech thing. Nice and comfortable. Although the cup itself is heavier than the Itech one.

The Jock doesn't seem to bleed through anymore after prolonged soaking and rinsing in cold water. I warned my buddy who I got the other Itech jock for. He didnt have the time to soak it and ended up with blue or rather purple balls today after the game. Hehe
