Project_2501 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2006 I consistently fall and have never had any problems with my Bauer Vapor 8 girdle. Just tossing this into the mix. I have the same girdle, and for me it's great, but I'm about 165lbs, so I'm guessing that me being that for a weight (not light, but definately not on the heavier side) makes for a bit of difference. Guy Incognito 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2006 I've got a pair of the Bauer Pro Return pants from EastWestHockey.com, I think they're 5000? I love the feel of them and enjoy skating in them. Anyway, about 3 weeks ago I fell on my ass trying to put a shot in off of a rebound and couldn't walk for a week. There is tailbone protection there, but when I hop the boards to get on the ice it shifts and I think that's why it hurt so bad. I'm constantly touching my own ass to try to make sure the pad is in place. In addition, it doesn't seem like there's a whole lot back there to begin with. Any suggestions on a fix/new pant? When I first started to play hockey I took a "learn to play class". This kid fell on his tailbone and REALLY hurt himself. But he didn't really fall that hard, so the instructor was a little confused. Then the kid says, "I don't know why it hurts so bad, I have a tail bone protector on". This kid put his cup on back wards to "protect his tailbone".Wow... He picked the wrong bone to protect.
Guy Incognito 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2006 I'm thinking about those Sherwoods (from EWH) or the Easton Synergy girdle. Any opinions?
ctaz 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2006 Go to a lhs and get a pair that you can actually try on. If you're worried about the tailbone protection moving on your way over the boards and stuff like that, but that's just what I'd do. I've always been comfortable in my CCM Powerline (no idea on the number) pants. I have a pair of Franklin HP7800s and I find them to be too damn bulky, and the tailbone protector is so large that it makes sitting on the bench uncomfortable, needless to say I don't wear them.
