visor help

Recommended Posts

I got the HLC and the 920 combo. Essentially the same thing, but the 920 might work a bit better with mounting since it has holes to attach the cage and you could use those on your helmet if the holes line up. HLC doesn't have the holes drilled, it has straps, which is good too as you can flip it up when your on the bench. You can get replacement 920 comebo shields for like $25 so it's pretty decent price, but don't think Itech recommends using it as a half shield, but if you want to, you could.

I don't think you can.

Go for the oakley, it's optically correct. Downside is you have to have the afr cleaner or risk spiderwebbing your visor.

i need essentially a visor with a detatchable cage...

there are times when i want to practice without the cage and just leave the visor on...

i wouldn't want to buy it seperately so im looking for one that

would do the trick...

I believe some are detachable but that would be a pain detaching then reattaching a cage. If protection is an issue, then you're better off just getting a full wire cage. Practicing with this on would also give the amount of vision you would have during actual games/scrimmages.

The Itech hx50 and fx50 attach to the helmet the same way and can be swaped out w/o tools (though it is a little tricky). Although it is more expensive than what you were thinking about, you may be able to find them cheaper now that the hx100 are out. That is what I do for similar situations as yours. Also they take the same replacement shields which is a plus.
