Going from size 8.5 D to 8.0 E

I recently got some Mission S500 skates (size 8.5 D). After a couple of skates they feel pretty good, just a tad snug in width (but not enough to be uncomfortable), and my toe pulls just barely off the end cap when I bend my knees.

There are some good deals on S300s out there, so I was thinking of getting a pair and converting them to roller (just for practice, not competition). The only problem is that the only size available is 8.0 E and I can’t try them on before I buy. Does it sound like these would work for me?

They should work. Impossible to know for sure without trying them on, but given your description it shouldn't be a problem.
