Warranty Turn around

Recommended Posts

I just bought another pair of s400's in October and again the tendon guard is tearing up.. quicker this time actually, anyone know generally how long it takes to get your skates back from mission?

I think you have to go through the place where you originally made the purchase. Mission will take the skates that you send them with the RO number supplied by your local hockey shop. After Mission looks at the skates they will either ship them back to your shop and you can pick them up (no warranty problem), or they will give your shop a credit for them (warantied defect) and then you can go pick up new skates. At least that is the way it worked with me and inlinewarehouse. All in all I think it took less than three weeks. Which I thought was very fast and very fair.

thanks for the info.. I bought them off the internet so I'm sure that will add some time.. good news is I have my old pair still so I won't have to miss out on anything.. which is why I didn't send them in for warranty on the first pair. My only worry now is how much they're going to charge me to upgrade to the fuel line since they no longer make the same skate..

The skates come with a one year warranty they can not charge you to honor the warranty.

I emailed them directly and they responded back saying that since they no longer make the model anymore that I'd have to upgrade and I "may" have to pay a small difference in price.. I didn't think that sounded right but I'm sending them in tomorrow so I'm going to wait and see. I would be a bit pissed if they wanted to charge me since this is the second pair and the first I had fixed myself.. just going to have to see what happens

I wouldn't be happy being forced to pay for an inferior product as a replacement.

ya I read your review..

Are you saying that Mission is going to charge you or the place you bought them is going to charge you? When I returned mine, I got credit for the purchase price that I paid. I was able to use that credit for whatever I wanted.

No I'm guessing the place I bought them from will.. which kinda sucks since I bought them on closeout and the holidays is kinda kicking my ass money wise.. but I don't know exactly what will happen. I'm sending the skates fedex today so with any luck I'll know whats going on in a week or two.

That may be kind of a drag. I do not know where you bought the skates, but I would guess that they will give you credit for the pric you paid. So you can get a replacement or something better and apply the money to it. You'll also be out shipping to Mission.

the turnaround on these was pretty amazing.. got a new pair over the weekend.. granted this was a month ago.. they replaced them with another pair of s400's from hockey giant... and after 4 session 1 game - 3 pickups they are starting to tear at the tendon gaurd.. no surprise.

the only problem outside of the tendon guard is that for some reason these skates feel a bit sloppy in the heel almost like someone had these baked and then returned them..I know it probablly won't solve the problem but will new insoles like shock Dr or superfeet help with the fit of the skate?? I'm going to try and use these until HG burns through their inventory of s400's in my size and get something else.

One last question on these as this will be the last pair I own.. If you have sent in a pair of skates already under warranty and they were replaced you can send them in again as long as it's within the time frame of the warranty right??

only reason I ask is, if I remember correct. You can only get a stick replaced once under warranty.
