tapered blades

i snapped the blade off a synergy sl a while ago, and it was too late for the warrenty to cover it so i cut off the broken part and put a standard blade in it. To do this though, i had to shave the blade down because the shaft was too narrow. I was just wondering if maybe the tapered blades would fit in more easily, ive noticed a few players who have done this.

Tapered blades can fit if you cut properly near the old blade fuse point.
