Bauer Titanium Cage?

Recommended Posts

I am curious this might be a dumb question, but I see on web sites like hockeygiant that they are selling a bauer titanuium cage for $28.99 called true vision, I was under the assumption that Itech was the only manufacturer making a titanium cage and I have seen that for 129.99 and up? Can someone please fill me in on whether or not the Bauer cage is really a titanium cage? Or is that just the color?

I would say that the Bauer one is Titanium-coloured.

The Itech titanium cage is pretty slick. Light, isn't supposed to rust or corrode. (under almost all conditions) Got mine on ebay for alot less and I expect it to last my entire hockey career.

Isnt that false advertising ?? If you do a google search for bauer titanium cage you get quite a few results popping up. There is no way a titanium cage is that cheap. Its just hard to sell a cage for 125.00 when people say you can get it on the internet for less than 30

Bauer does NOT make a titanium cage. The word titanium in the description describes the color, not the material.

NBH makes a titanium-colored 4500 and 8500 cage. the 8000/8500 is the one that comes on the 8000/8500 helmet, and it works fine for me.

Give me a break. I grew up playing on outdoor rinks in a town on the ocean and rusting cages never occured. It's lighter? wow, talk about a negligible difference. At least try and argue it's stronger and safer. If anyone if going to pay $130 for a cage tell them i'll give them a great deal on some muffler bearings and headlight fluid too.

I'm sure there are things you buy that others couldn't justify because of price.

That's great that your cages never rusted, but mine did, and I'm sure most people's cages do. Though I didn't pay 130$ for the cage, I use it...I have had it for months and no rust. I went through about 3 cages a year from dents and rusting and the Ti cage has not done either thus far.

It actually is noticably lighter after wearing it for a while and trying to go back to another cage. There are "negligible differences" in weights of OPS, but you don't seem to be complaining quite as much about people buying light sticks...
