What is the difference

the L2 is a tapered shaft

tapered shatfs taper down the shaft and into the blade just like OPS

standard shafts are your basic 2 piece but some still might taper a bit

you can tell if the blade end of the tapered shaft is smaller than the butt end. it's pretty noticeable if you have them side to side.

Tapered means the shaft gets more narrow toward the bottom. In view of this, the hosel of the blade that goes in the shaft ahs to be shorter and more narrow than a standard one. The advantage is the flex point is lower which puts a little more pop on your shot.

I stick with a standard shaft and wood blade combo as I find it gives me a better feel for the puck.

It's all personal preference.
