How to watch MP4 video files on Computer?

Hey I got some movies for my Ipod but want to know how is it possible to watch these MP4 files on my computer? I tried and searched on google for MP4 player but when I downloaded it it didn't play. Any solutions?

Use Quicktime or iTunes that's what I do.
