Ebay-ers.

Recommended Posts

So everytime I try to message a seller regarding shipping information (addresses) it directs me to a screen saying I have to verify using a code then after that it asks for a credit/debit card information. I don't have a credit or debit card to use in this case so it won't let me continue with messaging the seller, is there anyway to get around this or just any help in general because I really need to get payment out to these guys yet I have no shipping information.

Thanks in advance--D-MaN88

sounds kinda shady to me. There is no need for you to give any billing info to a seller to ask a question. As a matter of fact, you don't even need to be bidding on an item to ask a question.

are they an "established" ebayer, meaning, do they have a good deal of positive feedbacks? There are lots of scammers on ebay, just be careful when sending money. Ifyou're sending a check/ money order, be sure to note the check # or keep the MO Reciept in case you need to stop payment due to further shadiness. If at all possible, I'd use paypal, as they will insure your payment.

No it's not even the seller, it seems to be the actual Ebay page itself on my computer. It didn't just start doing it till Saturday/Sunday so I'm thinking Ebay might be beefing up the security or something, I don't know but it's really making mad because I can't figure out why all of a sudden I keep getting the message.

Whenever I tried to message the seller in "My Ebay" it would turn up, so when I went to the item page itself and clicked on "Contact Seller" it didn't do it, so I just think that I was an idiot and used the wrong page.

You still shouldn't have to enter any financial info to log on, or use any other feature on E-Bay aside from paying for an item. Like Damnlocust said, there are a ton of scammers on E-Bay. Be especially careful with any e-mail allegedly coming from them asking to verify information. It's almost always fake.
