ls2 steel in a ls1 holder

I have a pair of skates that have the ls1 holder on them. My ls1 steel is about used up and the profiling is really messed up. I want to get a new set of steel for my skates. I have heard that the ls2 steel is better, but i have heard that if fits really tight and it is a bit higher than the ls1 steel. Is this true?
