roller hockey pant help

Recommended Posts

Can someone help me out with some information.....

I recently joined a roller hockey league and one of the rules is you have to wear lnline pants. I have never owned a pair of inline pants. We have always played outside and I usually wear BDU (camo) type pants or shorts along with my shin guards and most of the guys I have played with do also. I am a big guy with a weist size around 40-42. What size pant would I buy? Do they make inline pants this size? The sizing info on the web sites isn't much help and the places I have called weren't much help either.

Thanks Rick

Try www.blockalternatives.com, the pants are called Block. You can choose custom materials, and custom colors. The pants are awesome its all i wear and they are only 60 bucks (shipped) for completely customizable pants which is cheaper than most of the weird ugly IMO roller hockey pants... but anyways check them out!

i'm about the same size as you rick, and mission XL seems to give me the best fit as I like them pretty loose for a greater range of motion. At the same time, I can even get away with wearing Mission Large since I don't wear a girdle.

If you can wait on the shipping, Hockeymonkey has a few mission styles on closeout. I could never stomach dropping more than $30-40 for a pair of pants, but I play a lot of outdoor and tend to shred them up.

Mission XL are humongous, I'm a 34 inch waist and have to tighten them to the max to keep them on. I have an extra pair of all black Mission D4 pants in XL. PM me if you are interested.

Thanks for the information.....After reading the archives and your posts I think I will go with a pair of Mission pants. Does anyone know if they all fit the same or is one Mission model bigger than the others? I have considered the Mission Injection, Mission Type -M and the Mission Apex.

The Injection might be better for me (40-42 waist) because it appears to lace up the front like ice pants and be belted at the sides. Anybody got any suggestions? And yes I know I should lose some weight.

Thanks

Rick Henry

I've got both Type M's and Injections. The injections are a bit looser fitting and made with lighter materials, which makes them a bit less durable. The Type M is a nice pant, but is a bit heavier. I Use the Type Ms for outdoor in the winter, as they're a bit thicker and have an inner short integrated. I found them a bit stifling for indoor, but it was summer. The waist is about the same on both pants.

You really can't go wrong with either of these pants. I don't have any experience with the Apex.

Thanks for the information I hope to be ordering some by the end of the week. The only thing is the color choices are pretty loud and flashy. I hate to show up as the new guy in the old guys league with wild looking flashy pants.

haha i have the type Ms in blue/yellow, and the injections in yellow/silver. my old roller team wore thrashers colors tho, so it wasn't so bad. It's the yellow helmet that I regret most.

I've been in Mission pants pretty much all of the better half of my life. I started with Franklin, like all people did. Then I don't know if any of you had it, but there was a sudden phase in which people had an insane obsession with the GEAR pants, so I got a pair. The GEAR pants got torn up, of course, so one day, at Sports Authority, I got a pair of size Senior Medium pants. I was really small at the time, and they felt like bed sheets!

After two years with those pants, I finally grew into them. I now am a 34", and wear a Medium. I've not worn through any Mission pants as of today, and I still have every pair that I bought. Mission Apex, Mission D2 Yellow, Mission D2 Black, and most recently, a pair of Mission Type M-1 pants from HockeyWorld.

I'll have these pants my whole life!

I really like the Mission Apex pants so far. Today was my second game in the league I joined and we skate on a really smooth concrete floor. I went down once pretty hard and slid on my left knee but it didn't wear through or even scuff the pants up.

Also even though I am a big guy the XL Missions are really huge. I think the large would have been better.

Yeah, I really like the Mission Apex pants. This was only my second week playing in the league and I bet 80-90 percent of the guys are wearing some type of Mission pant and Mission skates. That alone probably says something for the product.

Hockeymonkey rarely has the pants in stock they list on the clearance section. I have 2 pair over a year old have seen outside and inside action. Best pant in my arsenal to date. Will be picking up a 3rd pair this weekend. 2006 was a banner year for Mission quality, big props to Justin who should hear more thank you from us

I suggest the 7500 deal from hockeygiant for $49

http://www.hockeygiant.com/mishe7500pntsr.html

Real time stock check, reliable shipping, accept paypal

PS I am 228lbs 38 waist and wear just a large. The XL pair I have has to be cinched all most all the way to keep from hanging off of me
