New oakley visor question

Recommended Posts

So I just got a new intake helmet and oakley visor. When I attached the visor it spread the peices of plastic that go in front of your ear. I was just wondering if this will impair the helmets function or if I should not be worried about it. I am wondering because when you see people in the nhl they all have little plastic rings in between the visor and the side of the helmet and mine did not come with any. Thanks

I get mine at Lowes. Get longer screws while you're there too.

yep... nylon spacers. they should be in the aisle with the washers and screws. I forget the exact size I just picked up for my brother. And yeah, Chadd is right, you'll need to bring your screw with you to shop for longer ones.

why do most players use these? is there any big advantage in doing this aside to push the visor further away from their face?

Most times its so the damn thing fits. Sometimes you can't get it to screw in without the spacers.

That sucks that the visors don't already come with spacers, you pay enough as is for them.

Itechs are cheaper and come with spacers, isn't that ironic.

Thanks for the responses, I went and picked up some spacers and screws today. I got the visor to fit after messing with it for a while, but the visor sprung out the sides of the helmet, just didnt look right.

I had this exact discussion with my brother last night.... he bought a new Oakley... it came with no spacers, and really short screws. Which in turn led to 2 trips to Lowe's. My ITech- nylon spacers, and 4 quarter inch screws.... $25 less.

So I just got a new intake helmet and oakley visor. [...]

When i got my Intake, i wanted to take the Earguards off and attatch the visor but that was not possible. So now i have my Earguards back on it, but can someone tell me how to attatch a visor without the Earguards (in those Earguards are the screw nuts to tighten the screws)? I know its possible, look at all the NHLers and you guys on MSH (who have Intakes).

I had no problem taking the earguards and throwing on the visor... at least I don't recall any obstacles.
