Orthotics question...

Recommended Posts

Whoa bud, what's with the shouting?!! Pull back on the all caps, will ya?

Yes, we've heard of Suoperfeet there's a ton of threads about them here. Orthotics are for people with more severe problems that Superfeet can handle. Or for people with benefit packages!

Edit: BTW - welcome to the board!

HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF SUPERFEET INSOLES DESIGNED FOR SKATES? THESE ONLY COST 39.99 CAN AND WILL HELP SOLVE BOTH YOUR FOOT PROBLEM AND YOUR SKATE FIT PROBLEM.

I currently have Superfeet in my skates....I've had them for about 4 months. While they lock my heel in great, they only solve the pronation problem so much.... I still need custom orthotics.

Although hving them mde to fit the skate first is really the better way to go they really are very easy to trim down i have done a ton of them with out damaging a single pair.

yeah... the lapse in communication with my podiatrist ended up being "voice of reason" and convincing me to get a pair for both my skates, and my running shoes. I just brought my skate insoles to hiim today... he just took them, traced them and said "Ok, I'll use your molds and get these guys made up... sorry for the delay, I'll try and have 'em done in a week".. he said to bring my skates in when I pick them up... so I can slip 'em in... if they don't fit, he'll trim them.

There you go problem solved..although it may have seemed really bad with the cost involved once thee in and fit properly you will skate so much better than without.

my insurance covered the initiial pair... for some reason, the secondary pair will only cost my $65 out of my pocket... money well spent if I don't say so.

That's awesome.

BTW, there's a transition phase when you first wear your orthotics. You might even feel some discomfort. Don't take it as a bad sign. It'll go away once your body adjusts. Personally for me it took me a couple of skates (3-4) to get used to them.

yeah... I remembered that from when I had a pair when I was younger. I just got the new ones for my shoes, and I'll wear them for a few hours and I feel the slight strain in the muscles in my ankle, knee, hip...

I just happily say to myself "*Sigh*.... proper alignment!"
