Vapor XXX lite blade cracking

Recommended Posts

ive owned a senior 87 flex lindros curve Vapor XXX lite for about 2 months. Now there is a crack forming at the bottom of the blade. Ive heard of applying some epoxy resin strips or something like that to save the blade...please inform me on this process and if this blade can be saved or not

Once these blades start to go they generally tend to go fast.

You could try to fill this is with some epoxy but it would probably be short lived

As stated before once they start to crack their done. You can tape, glue, paste, spit, staple, or whatever else you can think of and that crack will always be the weak point of the stick.

However, two companies have developed a new product which enables us to repair broken blades. In the past SRS was used to fix broken shafts, now they supposedly have a new system where broken blades can be mended as well. I believe theres another company out there as well, could be called StickFix but i could be wrong, and they also repair all breaks on OPS blade or shafts.

Anyone know if SRS debuted this system at the Toronto show or are they waiting for Vegas???

This stick fix company is pretty cool. I took an easton sl to them with a break in the mid shaft. 2 weeks later I get it back for 70 dollars canadian and it lasted me about another 6 months after the initial 7 I had it. It's great. They claim it makes the broken area stronger, I dont know about that but it makes it feel exactley like it was. You also get a 30 day warranty on the broken area of the stick.

www.stickfixmississauga.com I believe the website is... (for the mississauga, ontario location anyway.)

in my opinion.... dont judge;

if you are worried about your ops breaking and having to buy a new one.. dont use an ops. they are expensive, if you are worried about breaking you stick due to this, you will not play as well. if you play the game with no inhibitions you will be a much better player. this isnt to say that you should be playing dumb hockey, just you shouldnt have to worry about your stuff breaking, and what ur going to do when it does. perhaps go back to a wood stick?!?! thats right, i said it. oorrr, if you think the composite technology of today's modern world will make your 100 mph slapper 10 mph faster at your next skills comp, then maybe use a composite tapered shaft and blade combo. maybe even a nice wooden blade so you can get some good dangle feel outta that mother.

food for thought!

my freinds blade did this and i ddont think there is really any saving it.

it seems like the blades feel like they lose feel when you use epoxy or whatever on them.

i wouldnt be so dramatic that you stopped using any ops's and using only woddies, that just crazy.

imo, just use it till it breaks, or cut it off and put a new blade in it.

is it still under warranty?

the stick is no longer under warranty

i agree with your position dangle7...i will not let the condition of my OPS affect my play...i have one of the biggest high school games of the year tonight and im gonna come out firing and maybe get a few goals out of this baby before it goes to OPS heaven hahaha...

good play. repairing ops also changes the flex proporties. if you are truly capable of making use of this technology, the fix will only inhibit your ability to do so.
