I thought some might want to bookmark it, just as a reference. Someone posted it as the source on the caps site, showing that tonight in Carolina, the total value of the caps defense corps will be a huge $4.7 million...

0.993 - Eminger, Steve

0.900 - Morrisonn, Shaone

0.825 - Green, Mike

0.675 - Heward, Jamie

0.475 - Nycholat, Lawrence

0.825 - Jeff Schultz

Caps D - $4.693 million

He has been out of the lineup for a little bit now, first it was "illness" presumed to be the flu that most of the team had, then it was "upper body injury"

Speculation is he has a concussion, and no, he did not play on the night I posted, Jeff Shultz was/has been his call up replacement from hershey

Well with the amount of money they are paying their defense with or without Pothier, I think they have done a great job at competing every night, as they are only 5 or 6 points out of a playoff spot.

If you throw the first period of last nights caps/sens game out, I think it was the most entertaining hockey I have seen in a long time.

The game had everything, bit of argy bargy, lots of skill, speed, everything that I like in hockey.....after the first period. Shame the caps lost, but was still a great game to watch

The problem this year wasn't the amount of money spent on D but the injuries. Losing Pothier, Erskine, Heward, and others for 5+ games at a time has killed the Caps so far. (Huge caps fan here so I may be bias).

But we do have the offensive talent in Ovi, Semin, and Zednik to make a run if our D can play like they did vs. Pittsburgh the other day.
