AK10R 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2007 We were talking about this on a motorcycle forum I belong to (ya don’t figure). This was posted by one of the guys out of Texas…. Vanity. That's what it is when anyone thinks that man can influence the climate in such a catastrophic manner. Back in the '70's, we were 10 years from the next ice age. Ted Danson, the noted ocean scientist and part time actor stated back in 1988 that the oceans would be dead in 10 years. I think he missed his target date. Now Al Gore says we will destroy the earth through global warming in 10 years (actually only 8 years left). Funny how it runs in 10 year cycles, just short enough to keep our interest, but long enough to be forgotten when it doesn't happen. If you want to intelligently discuss earth's climatic changes, you need to look at data in the long term. No, not 6 months (ozone), not 10 years, but in 100's of years. Another item that has not been brought up, is the fact that the earth is in an elliptical orbit around the sun (you know that hot thing up in the sky). It is not a perfect ellipse either, there are times we are closer at perigee than others. Believe in global warming if you want to. Believe that the next ice age is just around the corner. Believe that the earths magnetic poles are going to flip in 2012 (http://survive2012.com/geryl1.php). Believe in the tooth fairy. But use your brain and think. Of course the UN will exclude anyone (scientist) with data and opinions that differ from their agenda. You would too. This is not about "saving the planet and world peace" as the beauty queens would have you think, but about power and money. Quit feeling guilty because you were lucky enough to be born in the United States.

hockeymom 2 Report post Posted February 9, 2007 I have heard the current Canadian PM had wrote a memo in the past stating that “global warming†is just a way for the poor countries to get money from the rich countries.Harper was speaking of the flaw in Kyoto, where, rather than decreasing their amount of pollution, industrialized nations can buy "credits" from non-industrialized nations. This doesn't do a thing to reduce pollution.Arguably, one could say this would also serve to keep the third world "down" as the industrialied nations would have a vested interest in them NOT developing. But that would take us off-topic....

Patrick67 1 Report post Posted February 9, 2007 From all the girls I have talked to, size dosent matterActually size does matter, but it's up to the PP of the girl, most girls don't like them too big (since it's gonna hurt) but you can sort of make up for that by letting her control how far it goes... So girls are still telling the truth when they say they don't like em' too big, best thing is to have a size that fits her preference, can't make up for something that's too small though... And I'm talking about trees in your backyard. On the subject of Global warming... yeah you should look at 100year cycles, but there is no doubt that human interference has acclerated the current cycle beyond what should or could be expected.
