nicksmission14 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 Hello all,I'm curious what everyone is using for the runner length..Short, Medium or Long and why....
Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 I started with the stock Medium and liked it, but switched to the Long 4-6 months later, because I thought it might give me more speed, as more steel would actually be touching the ice. However, it was much more steel than I was used to, as well as sharper hollow, and I felt like I would topple over while stopping. Finally, I switched to the Short and love it. pops04xx 2 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 I started with the M-13, then tried the L-13 and found it way too long...messed me up. Found it difficult to make sharp turns and my stride didn't feel the way it should. Tried the M-11...don't really like it straight out of the box (too sharp)but after the third skate...they work great. Haven't tried the shorts yet but so far M's are my choice. greatone 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 Mediums for me. I was told that they were the closest to the original Lightspeed 2 holders. M11 hollow.
Ratfinklives 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 Medium to start then short then done with t-blades.I liked the short better than medium if that helps at all. Felt much more balanced.
Doctor Hook 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2007 Do you toss the runners when they're dull or do they get recycled?
Jason Harris 31 Report post Posted February 13, 2007 I'm not aware of a recycling program.
pisani34 10 Report post Posted February 13, 2007 i think i read somewhere on their website that your actaully just supposed to throw them away, i would keep some of my older sets of runners to use if you like to play in outdoor rinks, don't wanna be wrecking a new set of runners out there
kobcc 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2007 I'm currently using the medium. It's what came with the skates and I have gotten comfortable with them, so I haven't bothered to try anything else.
