hip check 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2004 I went and saw Canada vs France, US vs Spain, Australia vs Columbia, and Korea vs Mexico last night. There were two games going on two pads at 7:30 and 9:00, so I wandered back and forth between them. Not a single TV camera in sight, only a few video cameras... for the World Championships!??It was my first roller hockey exposure - not sure what to think of it. Like a mix of soccer, basketball, and hockey. Maybe I'm too old-school to "get it". It was good to see the games though. I wasn't overly impressed with the skill level. Maybe I was expecting too much, but if these were the best in the world <_< ? Spanish fans are loud. I may have to try it out some day.One funny note - watching the Korea/Mexico game, a few Aussies were up watching as well after their game (they play the winner). A guy was wearing a #99 jersey for Mexico. One Aussie said "I could understand a #98, but only ONE player should wear the #99". I thought that was pretty cool, since he probably had never seen much of Gretzky playing. Good to see they have a bit of sense of respect for the game. hip check 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2004 In London, Ontario. At the Western Fair Sports Centre, and at Thompson Arena on the University of Western Ontario campus. Finals for different divisions are June 30 and July 1, I believe. A google search will tell you who's playing, when and where.
