Jofa/Reebok Shins

Recommended Posts

I have a pair of of old Easton Z-Air shins that are way to bulky and get in the way. I'd like to go with some Jofas or Reeboks if they are in fact narrower and not so tall off your leg.

The issue is, you can't find too many Jofas and I can't find a list of Jofa -> Reebok models. I had my eye on the 5k as they are the first Reebok set that doesn't seem to have the fit-lite stuff.

Suggestions?

3k, 7k, 8k also don't have the fitlite system. iirc, only the 4k and 6k have the fitlite system.

Also, Jofa/RBKs are known to be on the wide side in terms of shins.

i find that my 6ks are pretty bulky, i like them like that. I know the newer eastons look really narrow, you should look into those if a narrower pad is what you're looking for.

Well as I've had people comment on the size of the ones I've got now I imagine even a "wide" set of pads would be an improvement.

Somebody around here has to remember the Easton Z-Air shins, big, black, one strap, red and yellow emblem on the knee. Great protection but hell I'm LW in a beer league not Craig Ludwig.

I have a pair of 8K's. Yes they are a bit on the bulky side and they are a wide shin pad, however probably offer the best protection on the market.

I also have a pair of Easton S-9's. I love the fit. They are a slim fitting pad that offer great protection probably not quite as good as a pair of Reeboks in the K line but still fairly impressive. They are a deeper fitting pad and just seem to cling to your legs. They are not quite as light as my 8K's but the difference is negligable. The only down side is they are a fairly expensive pad. If you don't play serious hockey you may be able to get away with the S-5's which offer many of the features its more expensive cousin carry. Another consideration for you may be the Nike line. A slim shin as well but slightly more bulky than the Eastons.
