Easton Air SBX

Recommended Posts

While killing time at the LHS today, I came across a pair of Easton SBX's in my size for $90. I did not try them on, as I had not enough time, but I'm thinking about going back to try on. Does anyone use these, or know anything about them? Based on what I found on the internet, they seem like they were a slightly higher than mid level skate. What can anyone tell me? Thanks.

my buddy had a pair...needed new steel and ditched em rather than replacing the runner. he skated hard on them for a couple years and they were still incredibly stiff. mind you, they may have been pro-stock. guess that's not a lot of help, but he liked his...i think that's a good deal if they fit you - MSRP was $379. but then again, i wasn't working at a LHS then so i don't know what else was in their catalogue that year. if z-air comp SE was from 03 too, those may have been a step up from the SBX...

The Air SBX is a really soft boot very, very comfy, IMO. The SBX satands for soft boot construction. yeah for $90 that is an excellent deal and i think you would love those skates if you prefer a softer boot.

Well, after having been back to the shop to try them on, I realized that they are actually just Easton Air's; not the SBX model. I did try them on, and they feel good on my feet, but I am going to bring my current skates and try them both on to see if one feels better. The guy at the shop told me that Eastons fit more like a Bauer, and I would notice a difference from my current skates which are 852 tacks. Given this new info, does anyone have any helpful info for me?

skated on them for about 3 years, i was shocked on how long they lasted for me. i rarely get 2 years out of my skates now. if i could find another pair i would buy those instead of the new skates.

I have found Easton and the Bauer Supreme lines to fit my foot well.

I had a pair of tacks, and they were horrible for my feet. So if the tacks are good for you, I would stick with them, but as always, I will defer to those who actually know better, which is damn near anyone
