What do *pro* players pay for?

Here is an article from the Rocky Mountain News about life on the road in the NBA. Talks about the per diem players get on the road, how they use it etc. Granted it is the NBA, and as I understand they have the highest per diem of all of the major sports, but you can get an idea. Pretty interesting read, things you don't often think about....

on that note, I did see a short clip of when the Penguins took their dads on the road for a weekend, and they did talk about their per diem. I think it was $92 a day, given to them when they walked on the plane.

That per diem is comparable to industry standards.

I heard a comment on Versus during a Flyers game this past season that while Forsberg was having his foot problems he was wearing a brand new pair of Vapor XXX's every 1 1/2 to 2 games. Maybe that's why they traded him.

In Montreal during the summer, when Lecavalier needs new skates or any equipment he drives straight to RBK head office and picks up what ever he needs, for free I assume.

last summer he even tried to bake his own skates and ended up melting the blade! lol

Suprising since he doesn't even use RBK

just so you know, RBK owns CCM, their in the same warehouse, RBK/CCM .

Thats why I said RBK.
