rwshockey55 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 I saw a similar thread in the ice hockey section and I was curious, what skates are the lightest? Is it going to be the new code carbon? Wicked? or HE10000? Vector? Anyone know???
shute 4 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 i think you can count out the code carbon cause of the chassic and bigger wheels
Hoffer 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 The Code carbons are noticeable lighter then the code-1’s so I would say they will be the lightest or one of the them.
gee2626 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 I've always thought the lightest skates were the He950 or the highest line of the ccm pf series. I recall the he10000 were not as light, but more of a solid skate.
rollerhockeymavin 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 ccm pf 10's lighter than mission 10000ccm pf10 lighter than code 1 or e-2'sccm pf 10's-not sure how they stack up to code carbons
starscream 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 regardless, your feet aren't going to notice much of a difference between the lightest and mid-lightest or even heaviest skates nowadays.... they're all so close and the technology is so good now, you're definitely not going to notice a few grams, that's for sure...... ATLstealth09 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2007 Just wait for DaveTheWave to come in and tell everyone how he pushed his Classic Wicked Lights with Zero G wheels to be lighter than the 950s, and how awesome the Carbon frame is.Really, by now, the lightest skate won't be the best skate for you. The best fitting skate or chassis suited for your style will be, and that should be that. I wouldn't mind a pair of Code Carbons, since I love the Hum'er frame, but hypothetically, even if the Missions would be lighter than the Tours, I would be faster on the Tours, since that's how I like my chassis. bombit 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2007 I know oldtimer had a set of converted one90's with the magnesium Vanguard frame and I refuse to believe thats heavy.
ATLstealth09 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2007 I know oldtimer had a set of converted one90's with the magnesium Vanguard frame and I refuse to believe thats heavy.I bet it isn't; the word heavy is a subjective word. Something can only be heavier or lighter in comparison. If the skates were described as heavy, they were probably being compared to 950's with mini bearings or those rediculously expensive "Wickergy" skates. bombit 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2007 I don't think weight should be underrated when it comes to inline skates either. My current inlines are RBK 4ks and they're enough to get by at this point but I can't wait to upgrade. Heavy can be good if the boot is stiff enough to suit your skating style (my Graf ice boots come to mind) but the 4ks are heavy and easily broken down.I'd prefer a good light and stiff skate, but I wouldn't sacrifice stiffness/durability in order to shave a few grams. Hoffer 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2007 A pair of Code-1's vs. PF10's both same size out of the box I think code-1's are lighter.
