Import duties to Canada

Any one know off hand how much import duties (aka customs) is when you buy something off HG to ship to Canada?

You will be on the hook for GST + PST of the declared value, in CAD, at the very minimum.

If shipped via USPS, you'll probably pay a $5 or $8 handling fee to Canada Post for processing it.

But be expected to pay at least $12, depending on value.

Finally, in addition to everything you maybe charged duty, depending on the person at customs. If it's classified as 9506.91.90.90 - sports/athetlic equipment, then you pay no additional duty. If it's something like a t-shirt, you pay 17% duty in addition to GST + PST. If it's classified as something else, you can try to look it up on the Canada Customs and Revenue web site, but it's a nightmare to try to figure things out.

Stay away if they ship through UPS delivery!!! as when you get it delivered they will charge you an addtional brokerage fee of theres when you've already paid the delivery through the online store and customs and duties.
