tapered shaft and nontapered blade

Recommended Posts

titles say it all. am i just stupid for trying it, or a genius or just one of the many. the real question is how is the durability of the setup and if it will snap after a little playing time. thanx

do you mean flipping the shaft over? if you mean that, then durability should not be any different, if you plan on jamming the focus flex blade in the tapered end, first off good luck getting it in, second, you are more than likley going to split the shaft at all 4 corners, and you can assume what that would do to the durability of the shaft.

I'd say you're pretty stupid for trying it. If you spent the money on a tapered shaft, why would you want to use a standard non fitting blade in it?

+1

You're better off taking a tapered blade and trying to make it taper even more by sanding the area below the hosel down, in the process making it weaker and more prone to failure.

do whatever you want. the worst that can happen is a broken stick.

i sure as hell don't understand it, though.
