Looking at books, I found "Coaching hockey successfully"

http://books.google.com/books?id=b6SqLUSTk...FXq48uB5xroL81U

Did anybody read that book?

yes, I have it...

As a 1st year player I learned quite a bit from it. I bought the book for my own informational purposes, so I can't comment on the quality of the included drills, but the book is full of them.

I thought the text was well written and I learned quite a bit of positional technique that really helped guide me where to go in my beer league games.

If you need more specific info, just ask...

Speaking of which, I'm trying to coach some house league kids. RIght now, they're just doing a breakout where they just look to skate the puck straight out of our own zone or just chip it into the neutral zone.

Any drills, etc. that I might try? I want them to work on having a controlled, puck possession breakout.

The sports illustrated guide to Hockey seems OK...

If you really want to see good plays/formations, and how to play different positions, you should just spend as much time as you can watching good teams play...a local college or junior team (games and practices if you want), pro teams, as well as NHL on tv.

I agree with that, but aside from how to do it, I need to know the name of play or formation
