New To Inline-Chassis?

Recommended Posts

My 10 year old gets new ice skates right after May tryouts every year-just picked up Vector Pro's. The Vector 6's he's moving up from will fit thru summer(just), thinking of converting skates to inline.....I'm thinking a good chassis would could be re-used on the ice skates at end of next season also?

Tips/hints on conversions, the Vector Pro's I just got him are size 4. Chassis will fit a few sizes on boots from threads I scanned thru, any recomendations on inline conversion that will fit current size 3 Vectors and next summers size 4-possibly the size 5's after that?

I'm in Toronto (east-Whitby), what's good LHS to buy-install or should I just order chassis online? I like any project that means I have to buy new tools so aquiring a rivet nipper etc is good :)

I think smalls in any brand of chassis will fit the sizes you listed. I assume he plays mostly ice, so you may want to look into the Sprung setup. Its suppose to feel very similar to ice skating on that chassis. Only problem is, I dont think that comes in small...yet.

Smalls won't fit. He needs a youth (junior) chassis, which I don't believe I have ever seen sold seperately. But for the price of a chassis and the work to get them converted. I.E. http://www.hockeygiant.com/mishe7500sktjr.html

Thanks for the links...anybody have experience with the ebay holders?

I'm in Canada but those Missions do look like a great deal-might order those and then pull chassis off and put on my kids ice skates after next season. I should be capable of mounting chassis, doesn't look too hard.

I will search around for good JR size chassis to buy locally, seeing that set up on ebay shows they do exist. I'll try emailing mission and see if someone in Ontario retails inline holders for them....asked on Sprung thread if small can fit JR 3.5's

i believe sprung is only making a size medium chassis for now, adult size 7-11so that wont work out. And mission hasnt sold inline chassis seperately in yearsss so they will be tough to find seperately. your best bet for a mission chassis is to pull one off of a skate now and mount it yourself. Plus if you buy a complete skate, you get the wheels and bearings as well.
