Graf hardware tools?

Recommended Posts

Were not a Graf dealer but i never say no to working on customers skates when they bring them in. Today a kid brought in a pair of G5's that had two holes in the sole for every posistion the holder could be placed. I can pretty much move the pieces inside the boot with no problem. The only one i ever have a problem with are the two closest to the end of the toe cap. I would imagine there is a tool or press used to set these pieces in. So im just curious what it is and what everyone does to set those pieces in place. I tried a variety of things today and just couldnt get that last "female" end if you wanna call it that to set into place.

Graf has a tool for it, but you can do this next time -

Get it to where you need to, then take their back RMS screw (the longest). Try to thread it in, then onceyou catch it, pull it into place with a pair of pliers. Or , if you have it almost in the hole without resorting to the screw trick, you can use the copper rivet pin and the steel rivet removal pocket and rivet it in place (basically squeezing the outsole down onto the anchor.)

Thanks that should be a lot easier then the tricks ive been trying. Do you find it hard to even get the female part even close to the front toe of the skate?? i find myself twisting and turning my hands in every which direction and barely getting close enough
