Tendosynovitis

Recommended Posts

I got a tendosynovitis since last Thursday and it really hurts. Anyone got a clue how to get well soon or at least get rid of the pain? Its weekend and i cant see my doctor (except going to a hospital, but thats not necessary at the moment).

I googled and as far as i know it comes from lifting weights.. maybe using a wrong technique or something.

Thanks so far.

A kid in my weights class back in highschool got it in his shoulder area. He was out for a couple of weeks.

I will see a doc on Monday and i hope i dont have to stop practise and working out for a long time. I think no pressure/force on the left arm would be the best thing... Im quite bummed cause Wednesday we got shooying pracitse and were shooting about 300 pucks and i dont wanna miss it because its fun and important to keep up.

Edit: Now im sporting an ugly bandage with some nasty gel/ointment. Typing with one hand sucks :(

I think I had something similar, and there wasn't much I could do besides wait it out. Just icing it a lot and take some pain killlers to take the swelling down should help quite a bit.

Did you get rid of it forever? Or does it come back from time to rime? Im quite afraid it does.

i'm not certain what it is that you have. can you give a little more detail as to a medical prognosis. i'm not sure if you have an elevated form of tendonitis or carpel tunnel.

Its called Sehnenscheidenentzündung in german, mayber the translations help you a bit:

http://dict.leo.org/ende?lp=ende〈=...g&relink=on

Its a nasty pain in the left arm and wrist. A sinew/tendon there infected and if you dont take it seriously it can get chronical and turn into a so calledf "tennisarm".

As a hockeyplayer a injury you dont want to have.
