Superfeet Recommendations for High Arch?

Recommended Posts

I suppinate when I skate, and was wondering if a pair of Superfeet would help. I know the grey ones are for skates, but they are recommended for flat to medium arched feet. I have high arches; is there a colour that would work well in a skate AND is designed for high arches?

I'm not too sure about superfeet but its always better to check with a podiatrist to see if you get a custom footbed. Maybe you have insurance that can cover it.

Black Superfeet have the best support. I got a new, medium sized pair along with some barely used Shock Doctor foot beds. PM me if you're interested in getting them.

I'll look in to custom orthotics, but I thought it might be cheeper to try superfeet first. Would the black ones work in skates? I've read that the grey are pitched forward more, making them better for skates; would this be a problem with the blacks?

Edit: Also, I just read that the black Superfeet are for flat feet...

i would look more into the custom graf footbeds made by sidas(i think thats the spelling) its a custom foot bed made for skates so they dont change the fit of your skates and are less than one from a podiatrist.I got a pair of these in my skates and they feel alot better compared to what I was using before which is the grey superfeet. Its also fun process because you stand in this machine with these bead like things and takes a shape of the bottom of your foot and then they put the footbed in the mold and you stand in it again, abit hard on the knees itself but was well worth it for sure.

Yep, exactly. Flat-footed people need the most arch, so the black superfeet would be the ones to buy. I used them one time and the arches of my feet were absolutely killed because the footbeds weren't designed for feet like mine; they were designed for folks with virtually no arch or a high arch that needs support.

Only the grey Superfeet are made for skates. If the regular greys don’t fit, get the custom grey. Orthotic inserts from a podiatrist cost a LOT more and almost never fit into skates. Some podiatrists might make ones for skates, but odds are they won't be any better than the custom grey (but a lot more expensive).

Are these only available with Graf skates? Does the molding process only work for grafs?

they come on the ultra Graf G-series skates for free aslong as the store you get them from has the machine and has bought into the footbeds and machine itself not all graf retailers will have it only a few will. But it can be used in any skate not just grafs since its also trim to fit after its been molded to your foot. The footbed is alot better than the superfeet for the fact that it supports your regular arch and also your metatarsal arch aswell as the arch that runs along the length of the inside of your foot,When I first skated on this footbed it felt different but felt more control itself, the footbed looks like an orthotic itself when its all done and is as strong as one but its not as thick and is made on the spot for you and is way less. The one i got is going to run around 90-100 canadian but theres one above it which is made for heavier set guys thats going to run 120-130. A few pros are wearing them like peter forsberg and also sean avery from what i remember hearing

Does anyone know if you can buy these insoles seperately and have them molded at a graf dealer; even if your not using graf skates?

Are you kidding me? Re-read his response. Look at what's in bold.

Thanks for the attempt, NTKT10; maybe you should be sure of what's being asked before you get smart. I was wondering if you'll be able to have the insoles molded at a graf dealer; even if you're not buying graf skates. The insoles wouldn't me do much good if I wasn't able to have them molded.

sogaduch: Thanks for all the info, I think I'll be looking into these.

It seems like sometimes people are too quick to become rude with other board members. Even if someone does misunderstand the information provided to them, there are nicer ways of letting them know...

correct, except that the design of the black superfeet is similar if not the same to the gray. designed for low volume shoes..aka designed not to take up any extra space. and that a gray super feet would not fit into any easton, or any other EE skate.
