Replacing Lightspeed blades

Recommended Posts

I have a pair of Vapor XX with the perferated blades. I am going to replace the blades with a solid stainless steel blade as I have seen teammates with the same skates break several blades. Any tips from those who have done this would be helpful. Did you use locktite on the allen screw that holds the blade? how tight do you torque the screw?

I know this was discussed once before, but I could not find it using the search engine.

It's a very good idea to change the steel. With the perf. steel it's not a matter of if they will break, it's a matter of when they will break. As far as locktight on the screw. Thats another very good idea, it's held my steel on my lightspeeds for 15 months now. And you dont want to overtighten the steel, it can warp it and put added pressure on the blade. Your local pro shop should be able to do all this for you, the one I work at we do it all the time. Hope this helps you.
