Studder Stopping

Whenever I get my skate sharpened and I try to stop, my feet start studdering like I was stopping on a rumble strip. Now I dont want to get my skates sharpened anymore because of this. Its ok after a few games. Could this be because their cutting it too deep? Thanks

yes. ask for a shallower hollow next time.

I did the same thing happen when I first had tblades. Like in the quote, I bent my knees a little more and it fixed the problem.

Your weight distribution across the blade could also be wrong. Typically, a blade will shudder if you are applying too much weight towards the heel of your skate blade.

Sometimes you just need to get used to the new sharpening and then it works. Skate some circles and maybe take some wood and pull it once or twice on the blade and youll be fine.

If you have to "dull" your sharpening for any reason its either too deep of a hollow, or your edges are all jacked up.

For me I'm kinda of screwed, No one around buffalo can do a decent job. I've been limited to going to great skate, but even there they won't cut your skates at anything other then 1/2" or 3/8". I had them cut at 5/8" up in canada once and it was soooo nice, but I'm screwed into crappy 1/2" sharpening.

Yes, you have described exactly the symptom of a too deep hollow on your skate. What is your hollow radius and weight? (hollow radius will be somewhere between 3/8" (way too small) and 3/4" (probably too big), with the average in the 1/2 to 5/8" range).
