Gagne9393 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2007 I figured this would be a good place for people to talk about some of the great wins they have been apart of or the devestating losses that have happened to them.Last night we played our first game of the season. I just came on the floor in OT with about 20 seconds remaining for one last rush. The goalie stopped it and the defense hail married up to a guy breaking in. He T'd one up and scored with 0.1 seconds left in OT. ouch.
hockeyplaya97 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2007 OK, we were the 4th seeded team in the regular season, we won our way up to play the team that was undefeated the whole season. Championship game, we play them. They were beating us 5-0 up until about 2 minutes left in the 2nd period. We turn it up and end up tying the game with 1:30 left in the third. 1 minute left now, I'm behind the other team's net, with a teammate nearby. We signal for a play we've practiced only about 2-3 times before. I go for the wraparound, but leave the puck behind the net. Goalie thinks I have it, I draw 2 people on me. My teammate takes the puck while all that's going on and puts it in the net with :07 left. Final face-off, center takes the faceoff like he's playing lacrosse where he drops on top of the puck and fights for it. He has about 2 people laying on top of him from the other team. Time runs out, we won!! Yay.
Thockey17 1 Report post Posted June 13, 2007 He T'd one up and scored with 0.1 seconds left in OT. ouch.I put one in off the crossbar the other night with 2 seconds left in OT. Their defenseman tried clearing it and it ended up on my stick for a perfect one timer. Havent felt that good on the rink in a while.
kosydar 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2007 Earlier this year in adult league my team had two guys on the bench compared to the other team's six or seven. We were down 5-0 with ten minutes left in the third. Scored one goal with ten left, another with six or five. Scored two more with less than three left, and the game tying goal with less than ten seconds left. Of course I botched my shootout chance and lost it for us, but i was still probably the best adult league game ever.
Scurvy 3 Report post Posted June 13, 2007 My team was down 5-1 with about 8 minutes to go. We traded goals numberous times and we eventually tied the game up with less than a minute to go in regulation. However, the other team managed to score a goal with 15 seconds left on the clock. It was painful because my team managed to come back to eventually lose and we were so close to overtime.
bigd19 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2007 It was the championship game in states which is the two best teams from Nor-cal (my team) and So-cal and we were up 2-0 through 2 periods and late in the third they tied up the game so than we went to OT and the score was still 2-2 and than the 2nd OT started and there was 7:00 mins left in the 2nd OT and than the opposing team got a 3-2 rush and brought it in to our goalies doorstep shot it and than it deflected off our goalies stick and in. And thats how our season ended.
nni 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2007 i remember in my roller league, it was a tough game, went back and forth, and we got the lead late in the third, with about a minute left the other team scored to tie it and the guy who scored skated past our bench and did the cutting the throat move. my shift came and got a good shot on net, so face off, i was the best shooter on the team and the faceoff guy always tried to win it to me, he did and i got an ok shot, goalie saved it, another face off. now with under 30 seconds he wins the faceoff again to me and i bury it, we win, but as i skated to the bench i looked at the guy who did that gesture and did it back to him and asked him if he was sure about that.not my best win or best lost, but it stuck out from the poor timing of the trash talk on his part. Wayne 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2007 Instead of a Great win or Terrible loss. I've got a Great Loss:In college we were on the road playing in a packed house (2,500+ fans). Our starting goaltender was scored on 3 times on his first 6 shots (1st goal was SH), and was subsequently pulled. Our PP was awful the first 2 periods, and our frustrations came back to nip us in the butt surrendering 2 PP goals. We were down 4-1 after 1 period, and 7-2 after 2 periods. The third period was a different story however. A fight led to a 5 minute PP for us. (One of their guys got nailed with 3rd man in). I started our scoring about 8 minutes into the 3rd. We scored 4 unanswered goals in the 3rd period, dominating the other team, to make it 7-6, and ended up hitting the crossbar on a shot with 2.5 seconds remaining in the game. We ended up losing that game 7-6, but it was a turning point in our season.
hockeytim18 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2007 My worst had to be for highschool inline team. The Championship game to win it all had about 3 minutes left in it. We were only down by one and I knew we could easily take it. So in that league if you get 10 penalties in a game you automatically forfeit. So what happens to us, the school with the cockiest kids. Our cockiest kids grabs their best player. Wraps his arm around the kids neck and piles him straight into our net and proceeds to beat the crap out of him.Kid came out of it with his strapped helmet off :o . That added with him and another kid fighting their player equaled 12 penalties and a forfeit for us.Then after that game we lost, we were invited to the State Championships and my guys thought it would be a waste of time.Awesome kids I play with. fatwabbit 93 Report post Posted June 15, 2007 Dont remember either.... hit too many times to remember that far back.We did have many losses in later years, started losing to a lot of these younger teams. But the funny thing was, every tournament we took part in, we'd end up either 3rd or 4th. When we were losing though, the other team would be pretty confused cause my team still kept laughing, even when they scored. They were stressing about getting more goals, while we were just screwing around trying to enjoy ourselves.
