Low Cut Boot vs Skipping eyelet

Recommended Posts

I'm curious about this, since I've just started to skip lacing the top eyelet on my Mission L7's and I feel much more agile this way. Would the low cut boots like Fuel AG offer a similar feel to skipping the eyelet? Are they more supportive all around than a skate that has the top eyelet skipped?

Yes, a low cut boot would feel similar to skipping the first eyelet on a higher boot. Same level of support. The part you leave untied on the high cut boot offers no support, just like the non-existent material on the low cut boot

When you skip eyelets, you can always lace them if you want to try something different, which wouldn't be an option with a low cut boot.

I second that notion, in the past I always went with low cut, s500's, 703's, I'm now concidaring 9k's to try lomething different...

That is not accurate in reference to the XP vs the AG. Those skates are very different, not just in height.
