i have a pair of wide width G9s which i believe is a similar fitting boot

i had to have it stretched wider, coming from a pair of E width ccm 952s

i got a tall and wide foot.

9 series is a stiff, deep fitting boot built for wider feet, and for ankles that need that support of a stiff boot.

if your coming from a flexier boot, you may not like them.

just an fyi

the insoles that came with my skates were a P.O.S.

replaced them with spenco insoles.. much nicer..

Will I comfortably fit ina 709 if I'm coming from a 1500c?I love the fit of my 1500c to death but they are way too shallow. I also fit well into the flexlite 12. Will the 709 be good for me?

I had a pair of 900Cs and the 709s are substantially deeper than those and wider as well. I would say they are a little shallower than the Flexlites. Width wise the 709s are a little narrower than the EE width Vapor XIXs I have but they are deeper. The width of my EE Vapors with the depth of the 709s would be perfect for me.

here's my take. I am currently skating in 709's and I had 1500c's before them. I fit pretty good in the 1500's but had foot surgery right after I bought them and after that, I couldn't skate in them. they just didn't give me the support I needed. I don't have a real wide or thick foot but I also don't have real high arches either so they are probably a bit wider than a normal foot.

I love the fit of the 709's. they are deeper than any skate i've worn before but they have the stiffness where you need it and flexibility where you need it. and that means I can lace them up fairly tight and still be able to have deep knee bend. they aren't nearly as stiff as the 1500's overall and I was a little concerned about that at first but the fit of the 709's is so good that it doesn't matter. the toe caps haven't caused me any problems so far and my forefoot is definitely the widest part of my foot. easily the most comfortable skate i've ever worn.

my 1500's were R width and I also got R in the 709's. I wear an 8.5 to 9 shoe and my skates are 6.5's.

hope that helps but i'll gladly answer any questions.
