The Boston Bruins continue to make sweeping changes, dismissing long-time assistant GM Jeff Gorton and scout Daniel Dore.

Gorton started with the Bruins in 1992 as an intern in the club's public relations department and joined the scouting department two years later. Gorton became the interim general manager when Mike O'Connell was fired in March 2006.

Nearly two weeks ago, Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli announced that Dave Lewis was relieved as head coach and reassigned to another position in the organization. Associate coach Marc Habscheid was also reassigned.

Former Montreal Canadiens and the New Jersey Devils Claude Julien was hired as the third Bruins coach in the last year and 17th person to hold the job in the last 30.

With files from the Boston Globe.

with all these changes it makes me wonder what they want to do with the organization..

I bet Chiarelli perceived Gorton as a threat to his authority. The younger Jacobs is already on record as previously mentioning Gorton as a possible GM for the Bs (when he was interim GM).
