Hi-Lo Chassis Question

Recommended Posts

I found a set of almost brand new older model high end Mission's the other day at the rink (manager said they had been there for a month or so) so he said I could have them the next time I come to the rink since they weren't claimed. My question is I'm skating on a converted set of XXs with Sprungs and only have 76mm wheels, if I wanted to skate the Mission's because I kind of miss the old HiLo chassis, would the all 76mm wheels work with a HiLo or not?

Thanks in advance!

as asid above.

because the frame is stamped for 72 72 80 80, you are stuck. if you HAD to use your 76 though, you could run 68 in front, and it would work, but it would in return give you alot of toe slip while skating

Yep...Can't switch out to all 76s...Check E-bay if you are looking for chassis..>There are usually some Mission, Red Star, or Sherwood ones...

I like the chassis, and I'm trying to see if I like the standard Hi-Lo or if I want to stick with the Sprungs. I just don't want to spend $$$ on a new set of Hi-Lo wheels and then figure out I like the Sprungs better. Oh well. Thanks for the help though guys.

Hey, why don't you borrow a pair and do a reality check before going off to spend bucks. They as common as flys, so there must be somebody that will let you do a little court time. Let em wear your Sprungs.

You'd have to do 76MM in the back two wheels and 72MM in the front two wheels to maintain a level boot....that's ONLY IF you wanted to try and use the 76MM.

actually, it still won't be level. you'd need 68s for the front, as skooled pointed out above.

Using a 76-68 setup will make the skates a bit more maneuverable, but you'll lose speed.
